In addition to having the top high school in the state, the School District of Shorewood is also one of the best places to work in Southeast Wisconsin according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The District was named the 32nd Best Midsize Company (150-449 employees) in the Milwaukee area.
Shorewood Drama recently received thirteen Tommy Awards for its productions of "Spring Awakening" and "Godspell." The Tommy Awards program, run through the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, is an education initiative that honors and celebrates excellence in musical theater production among high school students.
On Monday, May 20, the Shorewood High School Chamber Orchestra will present a concert at North Shore Presbyterian Church in Shorewood. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m., and there is a $5 suggested donation.
On Wed., May 29, the Shorewood High School (SHS) Band will present its Finale Concert at 7 p.m. in the SHS Auditorium. The program, which features the SHS Concert Band and Wind Ensemble, will include a performance of Gordon Jacob's Concerto for Bassoon by senior Lexie Lanphere and a combined finale performance of music from the Oscar-winning movie "Les Miserables." A brief awards ceremony and reception, honoring this year's Band students, will follow, shortly after the concert. Admission to all School District of Shorewood Band concerts is free.
