Volunteering
The Shorewood School District relies heavily on a strong group of parent and community volunteers to provide support in a number of areas. Volunteer duties may involve service in libraries or classrooms, at athletic events or performing art programs. Volunteers chaperon, tutor, mentor and coach youth sport teams. Volunteers are members of advisory committees and booster clubs. Volunteers who work through our four parent organizations are involved in community building, communications, and fund raising for special projects.

Volunteer Policy
The School Volunteer Policy requires that volunteer background checks are to be completed every two years. Anyone who volunteers as a tutor or classroom aide, who is a potential field trip chaperone, or who will be coaching or working directly with students on school projects, must fill out an application and a disclosure form and send them to the Recreation and Community Services Department's Office before they begin their volunteer service.
Parents and other adults who applied to volunteer and have been approved during 2010/11 or 2011/12 school years DO NOT need to re-apply.
New Volunteers: Copies of the application and disclosure form are available in all four school offices or you may download the guidelines and forms. Be sure to submit both forms.
Return the Application and Disclosure Form to your school or the Superintendent's Office, 1701 E. Capitol Dr., Shorewood, WI 53211
