Enrolling Your Child

Welcome to the School District of Shorewood! If you are new to our district, we encourage you to register your student as soon as possible to help us balance class sizes and provide appropriate staffing.

You are welcome to visit our schools during school hours. Please call ahead to schedule an appointment at the appropriate school to be sure someone will be available to provide a tour and answer your questions.

Non-Resident

If your child currently does not reside in Shorewood, there are three ways your student can attend school in the disrtict.
Become A Resident
Resident students are automatically enrolled in the Shorewood school system. Proof of residency is required at registration.
Open Enrollment
Apply through the Open Enrollment program.  Open Enrollment applications are accepted from the beginning of February until April 30th for the following fall enrollment via the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's website.  There are a limited number of spaces available; students for available spaces are selected randomly through the Department of Instruction.
Chapter 220 Program
If you are a minority and live in Milwaukee, you can apply for the Milwaukee 220 program.  This is done by contacting Milwaukee Public Schools for an application, in January, for admittance the following fall.  Again, space is limited, and students are chosen randomly to fill available seats.
